Held annually in partnership with The Bike Shop, Bike Tunes & Tuneups brings together cycling, live music, local businesses, and community connection for a free day of fun in the BLOX. What started as a community-focused cycling event has continued to grow year after year, and this year's edition was the most successful in the program's history.

Thanks to beautiful weather and a fantastic turnout, more than 250 people attended throughout the day. The event's biggest draw was the free bike tune-ups, with an impressive 152 bikes servicedmore than double the number completed in 2025.

For many attendees, the tune-ups were the highlight of the day. Whether they arrived with a squeaky chain, worn brakes, a flat tire, or simply wanted to get their bike summer-ready, The Bike Shop team helped riders get back on the road safely and confidently. The steady lineup throughout the event showed just how valuable accessible bike maintenance services are to the community.

Of course, Bike Tunes & Tuneups wouldn't be complete without the tunes.

This year's lineup featured performances from Victrix, Sunglaciers, 0Stella, and BetaBoys, creating a soundtrack that carried throughout the BLOX all day long. Each act brought something unique to the stage, keeping the atmosphere lively and giving attendees another reason to stick around after getting their bikes serviced.

One of the standout moments came from our headliner BetaBoys, whose performance extended beyond the music itself. Their crowd work was exceptional, creating an interactive experience that drew people from the tune ups service line closer to the stage and encouraged audience participation. Their energy helped transform the performance area into a gathering space where neighbours, visitors, cyclists, and music lovers could connect and enjoy the day together.

The event also highlighted the strength of local partnerships. Eight local businesses contributed to the day's success, helping create an experience that celebrated the community while supporting the local economy. From food and beverages to event services and supplies, local businesses played an important role in making the event possible.

Behind the scenes, 11 dedicated volunteers donated a combined 55 hours of their time to help with setup, operations, and attendee support. Their efforts helped keep everything running smoothly and contributed to the welcoming atmosphere that has become a hallmark of the event.

Families were a major part of the celebration as well, with roughly 40 attendees under the age of 18 joining in throughout the day. From young riders receiving their first bike tune-up to families enjoying the music and activities together, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
