Role
BLOX is here to advocate for you. As the Beltline Business Improvement Area, we represent roughly 650 businesses and work to ensure your concerns, needs, and priorities are heard by the City of Calgary, elected officials, law enforcement, and community partners.
Our advocacy focuses on the issues that shape your day-to-day business environment and the long-term strength of the neighbourhood. This includes area safety, cleanliness, graffiti removal, accessibility, construction impacts, streetscape improvements, beautification, economic vitality, and broader business support. We work to champion the projects, services, and investments that help make the Beltline a stronger, safer, and more welcoming place to do business.
We attend council meetings, policing summits, community partner meetings, and other relevant discussions to speak on behalf of Beltline businesses and stay informed on issues, updates, and developments that could affect you. This helps us keep your voice represented while staying current on the information that matters to your business.
Alongside our advocacy efforts, we actively pursue external funding opportunities through municipal programs, grants, reinvestment funds, and partnerships. This allows us to bring additional resources, improvements, and support into the community without increasing the burden on local businesses.
